The Color Design File
Published in Spiral-bound by Ryland Peters & Small (September, 2002)
Authors: Leslie Gedded-Brown and Leslie Geddes-Brown
Average review score:

Well-done and practical guide
This book contains many useful tips throughout the book and has beautiful photos. The pictures are mostly examples of Loft-style interior decoration, but if you don't like Loft style, the tips contained within the book are still worth the cost of the book.

The first section is titled "Using Color." Geddes-Brown does a great job of covering the basics of color, such as color properties, the color wheel, and how to find and use your colors. She also covers areas that many other color books do not, such as color and light, zoning and defining space, and how textiles influence color perception.

The second and third sections are titled " Neutrals and Naturals" and "the Colors." These two sections show examples of each neutral or color and has information on how to decorate with each color.

The last section titled "Useful Information" has pages for your own notes and sketches, a list of resources, and a place to put your own favorite resources.

Bonus: I like the fact that at the beginning of each section there are pockets for swatches and magazine inspirations. At the end of each section she has a page titled "Finding Inspiration" which has more useful tips.

I recommend this book for anyone, from someone just beginning to explore interior decoration to interior design junkies like myself.

Maybe you should read this!
I won't lie to you--this book may not be for everyone, but I bet it's for you. No, it's not just about illness, denial and fear; it's not just about love, loss, insanity, sanity, recovery--well, you get it, it's about all of the above, but more. It's been billed as "sassy" but I'd say it's also funny, ironic, touching, and a story told in lucid prose. My guess is it may become a word-of-mouth cult classic. See what you think.

Coming to Terms With the Potter

A worthwile read
This is more than a book about God's ability and willingness to heal people. This book brings us as close to the process of a BMT as we would ever want to be. This book just doesn't talk about healing and infirmity though, this book also talks about other struggles we face in our lives such as career burnout; the struggle for people in their 20s and 30s to move out of their parent's home; dreams crashing; expectations being unforfilled, life passing someone by; and so on.

complete survey of all the awards given to Commandos
Endurance, together with phisical and mental stamina were the hallmarks of the Commandos, who numbered about 10,000 at their peak. With the publication of these records, which include London Gazette details, readers will be able to judge for themselves the standard of ability and courage which these men displayed. This book is a significant addition to the historical record.

Commando Workout: 4 Weeks to Total Fitness
Published in Paperback by Thorsons Pub (November, 2002)

Excellent. Transformed my Body.
I'm a female, 32. I would recommend this book to a person with an advanced beginner or intermediate level of fitness knowledge in both weight training and nutrition. It provides few basics.

The most important thing you need to know about this program is that you don't have to do it exactly as it is laid out to get the results. But you do have to be committed to the routine and to pushing yourself towards the full workout as much as possible. And, of course, you have to follow the traditional fitness diet to actually *see* the results. I had a herniated disc from a martial arts injury and was unable to work out for 4 months and this book got me in excellent condition in 4 weeks flat.

My recommendation to get started if you can't get to the gym twice a day (who can??) is to save your cardio for the pm after your weight training. It's tough and its far from ideal, but it's the only way I could get through it all. I also wasn't able to get through all the exercises, sets and reps recommended straight away but I did as much as I possibly could, within my own limits, and the workouts were challenging enough to transform my body.

I still go back to the book and repeat the cycle every few months as part of my program to make sure I am continuously challenging myself. It's just a great handbook.

Very Practical Material
The material presented in this book can be cataloged as a species of training. This book differs from Dr. Brown's "Unbroken Curses" in that is is more mature and Christ-centered. She also refers her past experiences cited in her other books and points any possible strategy mistake. It really worths it reading.

The Complete Book of the British Charts: Singles & Albums
Published in Paperback by Omnibus (20 November, 2000)
Authors: Tony Brown, Jon Kutner, Neil Warwick, and Paul Gambaccini
Average review score:

Essential reference
This is the descendant of the Guinness chart books and contains, for the first time ever, singles and albums (and EPs from a separate chart) together in one volume. Each artist has his/her/their singles, EPs, and albums listed in chronological order along with label, chart debut date, peak, and weeks on chart. Each re-entry onto the chart is noted separately. The index of titles is comprehensive and their is, of course, a chronological recap of number ones. Trivia fanatics will miss the pages of chart oddities that appeared at the back of the Guinness books, but that's a small quibble, since much chart trivia has been stuffed into the main listings (notes under the chart titles, etc.). An essential reference.

The Complete Herpes Handbook
Published in Paperback by E P Dutton (March, 1983)
Authors: Robert Brown and Gideon Panter
Average review score:

Best Herpes Book Ever Written
The Complete Herpes Handbook by Robert D. Brown, MD and Gideon G. Panter, MD was one of the very first books about herpes simplex infections that was specifically targeted for the individual who suffers from the disease. Originally published in 1983, the paperback volume contains one of the most comprehensive surveys of the history of herpes as a social disease that has ever been prepared. Many more recent books on the same subject have simply condensed the information found here. The book was written by two experienced New York City physicians at a time when neither Valtrex nor Famvir had been approved. Because of this, the text is more focused on the beneficial but non-pharmacologic therapies than are more recent books dealing with the same subject.
